Creamy Chicken Salad

Creamy Chicken Salad

Julia
Creamy chicken salad has a soft, rich, and smooth texture that melts gently in every bite. The shredded chicken gives a mild savory base, while cream cheese and sour cream create a thick, velvety coating.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Fork or hand mixer
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula or spoon
  • Can opener

Ingredients

  • 2 10 oz cans canned chicken, drained and shredded
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 –3 tbsp dried onion flakes
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
  • Garlic powder to taste

Instructions

  • Start by draining the canned chicken completely so there is no extra liquid left. Place the chicken into a large mixing bowl and gently break it apart with a fork until it becomes soft and slightly shredded for a better texture.
  • Next, add the softened cream cheese and sour cream into the bowl with the chicken. Stir everything together slowly until the chicken is fully coated and turns creamy and smooth.
  • Now pour in the Worcestershire sauce, then sprinkle in the dried onion flakes, black pepper, and a little garlic powder. Mix again so all the flavors spread evenly throughout the mixture.
  • Keep stirring until everything is well combined and has a smooth, balanced taste. You can always adjust the seasoning if needed by adding a bit more salt, pepper, or garlic.
  • Once done, either serve it right away or place it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes so the flavors can blend nicely. It tastes best when chilled and can be enjoyed with bread, crackers, or fresh lettuce wraps.
